Understanding God's Voice : Psalm 37:23
Over the next couple of days we will explore how to hear and understand the voice of God and how that allows us to understand our purpose. For so many people it is hard to know if they are really hearing God and what they are called to do in life. There are a few things we need to understand about this . We must recognize that God will only tell us to do things that will be a blessing to others as well as ourselves. Any act they may hurt or set someone else back is not a direction from God. We must also understand that our purpose does not have to be deep and spiritual. God gives us gifts and talents. The things we are naturally good at and have a passion for come from God. We are called to use these gifts to both impact the world and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul didnt know his purpose was to spread the Gospel at the time he was persecuting Christians. (Book of Acts)God called him in the middle of his sin and mess and changed his life. Many times we wont recognize our purpose right away, it takes God to redirect our attention. If you are struggling to find your purpose you must first find God. The more we understand about who he, the more we will understand our purpose.
This series will explore the lives of biblical people and how they came about understanding their purpose and hearing Gods voice. I want to encourage you to make comments and send me your questions. This is just an introduction into our purpose series. My prayer is that you will better understand who you are and what you can accomplish by understanding who God is and what he wants to do in your life. God is real and he is not far away. He desires a close relationship with you and he hears your prayers. Many times God's voice comes through his blessings and doors that will open in your life. We must pay attention to the connections and people God brings to guide us in the right direction. Stay tuned for our series starting this Thursday.
God Bless,
Pastor Anthony
